Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a facility maintenance technician to keep the service center safe and functional, providing oversight and coordination of vendor repairs and maintenance tasks.

The role requires basic electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills, the ability to follow instructions, and the flexibility to work alone or with a team in varying weather and shifts, with attention to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Able to work alone or as a team member.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• PC experience and ability to use maintenance software programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair service center facility, shop, grounds and dock area.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and inspections.
• Act as liaison for facility maintenance needs.
• Complete weekly facility, yard, and fence walks for repairs or preventive maintenance.
• Repair dock doors and related equipment; pallet jacks.
• Apply ice melt, snow removal and landscaping as applicable.
• Schedule work with vendors and oversee repairs per FSAs.
• Coordinate in-house and 3rd-party repairs with the Facility Maintenance team.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
