Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a maintenance-focused Facilities Technician to keep our service center, shop, grounds, and dock area in top condition. The role involves coordinating with vendors and in-house teams to manage repairs and preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates have basic electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills, good instruction-following ability, and strong communication. This on-site position requires flexibility and adherence to safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Must be able to work alone or as a team member.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• PC experience and maintenance software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair service center facility, shop, grounds and dock area.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and state and local fire and safety code requirements.
• Act as a liaison for service center personnel for facility maintenance needs.
• Schedule and oversee repairs with vendors; review scopes of work and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate in-house and 3rd-party repairs with the Facility Maintenance team.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, doors, fences, gates, and related equipment.
• Apply ice melt, perform snow removal and landscaping as applicable.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies; perform other duties as required.
