Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Worker in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves developing and maintaining facility systems, evaluating and repairing building systems, and coordinating with contractors as needed to ensure safe, functional spaces.

You will install equipment, manage inventories, and implement preventative maintenance while ensuring timely, professional task completion and excellent customer service aligned with VOA-Texas mission.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of relevant experience.
• Valid Texas Drivers’ License, clear MVR, and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and maintenance of systems for facility reporting of maintenance problems.
• Evaluate electrical, plumbing, structural, equipment and other maintenance issues and perform repairs within technical capability, coordinating with contractors for work beyond scope.
• Build or modify interior walls or other structures as needed.
• Install equipment and move furniture/fixtures as required.
• Order and maintain tool and repair part inventory.
• Establish and conduct a preventative maintenance program for facilities and related equipment.
• Complete periodic status reports on repairs and facility conditions.
• Prioritize repairs and assess required expertise and costs.
• Perform approved maintenance procedures and train facility staff accordingly.
