Job summary

VOA Texas is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to support development and maintenance of facility reporting systems. You will evaluate various maintenance issues and coordinate with contractors when necessary, building or modifying structures and installing equipment as directed.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, inventory management, reporting, and prioritizing repairs while ensuring safe, professional operations and exceptional customer service within VOA Texas’ mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus six years of relevant experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with clean MVR and the ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development and maintenance of systems for facility reporting of maintenance problems.
• Evaluates electrical, plumbing, structural, equipment and other maintenance issues and completes repairs or maintenance. Uses contractors when needed.
• Builds or modifies interior walls or other structures.
• Installs equipment and moves furniture/fixtures as required.
• Orders and maintains a tool and repair part inventory.
• Establishes a preventative maintenance program and conducts it on facilities and equipment.
• Produces periodic reports on repairs and facilities status.
• Recommends priorities for repairs and evaluates costs.
• Performs approved maintenance procedures and trains facility staff.
• Completes forms and paperwork timely and professionally.
• Drives to and from job sites independently and safely.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service aligned with VOA Texas mission.
• Uses protective gear to prevent injuries.
