Job summary

Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) is seeking a Facility Maintenance Worker I to perform janitorial and custodial duties, maintaining cleanliness and safety in work areas in Louisville, KY. The role supports the KSB housekeeping section and contributes to a clean, well-maintained environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms, windows, floors, furniture, and equipment, plus trash removal and general upkeep.

• Maintain bathrooms, clean fixtures and keep toiletries supplied.
• Clean windows and door glass inside and out.
• Wash lockers, walls and fixtures when needed.
• Clean and dust furniture, desks, chairs and tables as needed.
• Clean janitor closets and equipment daily.
• Scrub, buff and wax floors.
• Clean floors by dust mopping and wet mopping as needed.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets and stairs.
• Collect and dispose of trash in any area.
• Sweep and hose down debris from sidewalks and other areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
