Job summary

Amada America, Inc. in Batavia, NY is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform repairs on CNC machine equipment, coordinate services of outside contractors for maintenance and remodeling, and keep documentation files for facilities.

The role requires minimum five years of hands-on experience in facilities or CNC repair, knowledge of electrical schematics, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Understanding of electrical schematics and machine diagrams
• Familiar with all aspects of facilities repair and maintenance practices

Responsibilities

• Performs all minor repairs to CNC machine equipment and works with manufacturers to troubleshoot.
• Helps coordinate services of outside contractors for construction, major electrical/plumbing, HVAC, roofing, ground maintenance, janitorial, and security.
• Maintains information, drawings, and documentation files for facilities and establishes maintenance standards and schedules.
• Assists other departments with unsafe conditions and supports personnel moves; replaces light bulbs and tiles as needed.

Description

ESSENTIAL FINCTIONS:

• Performs all minor repairs to companies CNC machine equipment. Works with machine manufactures to help trouble shoot issues and repairs.
• Helps coordinate the services of outside contractors for:
  • Construction and remodeling
  • Major electrical and plumbing
  • HVAC maintenance and repair
  • Roof maintenance and repair
  • Ground maintenance
  • Janitorial services
  • Security services and equipment
• Complies and maintains information, drawings, and documentation files concerning facilities.
• Establishes and maintains maintenance standards and schedules for company fixtures and equipment including, but not limited to:
  • Fires extinguishers
  • Sprinkler risers, and PIV's
  • Backflow Prevention Devices
  • Helps move furniture and fixtures as needed for personnel moves and changing business requirements
  • Replacing light bulbs
  • Ceiling and floor tile replacement and repair
  • Assists other departments with problems and/or correction of unsafe conditions
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares reports for management as needed
• May participate on the Company Safety Committee

SKILLS:

• Detail oriented with the ability to handle tasks and priorities
• Skilled in use of standard hand tools such as volt meter, wrenches, screwdrivers, plyers, etc.
• Ability to work on and complete projects with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate including ability to use programs such as Word and Excel

PAY RANGE:

• $29.00 - $31.00 per hour

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

KNOWLEDGE:

• Minimum five years of hands-on experience in equivalent facilities or CNC repair work.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and machine diagrams
• Familiar with all aspects of facilities repair and maintenance practices

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Environment:

• Works indoors in shop, offices , and warehouse
• May occasionally work close to loud machinery or equipment
• May be exposed to dirt, oil, grease, or solvents

Physical:

• Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Requires ability to stand, bend and squat
• Requires ability to climb ladders and maintain balance
• Requires ability to grasp and hold objects with hands and fingers
• Requires ability to type at a computer keyboard using fingers
• Requires ability to see, hear, and smell

• Very little travel
