Job summary

DIMAR MANUFACTURING in Clarence, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facility equipment to keep machinery running safely and efficiently.

You will assist in repairs, service CNC machines such as press brakes, lathes and mills, diagnose malfunctions, and perform wiring, conduit, and electrical installations in a dust-prone shop environment. A high school diploma and 2+ years in manufacturing maintenance are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Control downtime by informing production of preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing and facility.
• Measure, cut and install wiring and conduit.
• Install and configure electrical equipment.
• Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.

Job Summary:

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to production and facility equipment in order to ensure the safe efficient operation of machinery and all mechanical equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the repair of equipment as directed by other maintenance personnel.
• Ensures operation of CNC machinery such as press brakes, lathes and mills by completing preventive maintenance requirements as established by manufacturer's specifications.
• Inspect, operate, or test CNC and manual machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and initiate repairs as required.
• Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components.
• Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing and physical structure of all production facilities.
• Measure, cut and install wiring and conduit.
• Install and configure electrical equipment.
• Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.

Non- Essential Duties:

• Provides communication to production on potential equipment problems that could negatively affect operations.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educations workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company procedures and rules.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic equipment maintenance: able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
• Technical understanding of maintenance concepts and practices.
• Deal with uncertainty in a flexible and proactive manner.
• Basic common safety practices, OSHA certifications a plus.

Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements:

• Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings are common.
• Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment when on the shop floor:
• Safety glasses
• Electrical hazard rated safety toed shoes/boots
• Other safety gear as needed

Must be able to:

• Work safely in a fast-paced environment
• Work overtime, including weekends as requested
• Respond to emergencies when off work (on-call)
