Job summary

Serac is seeking a Facility Maintenance Tech to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of our facility. The role includes running a floor scrubber and handling simple plumbing, electrical, and masonry repairs.

Responsibilities also cover painting, event setup/teardown, inventory management, and assisting with machine testing while adhering to safety protocols. High school diploma and 1 year in maintenance are required.

Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, including running a floor scrubber, performing simple plumbing, electrical, and masonry repairs.

Reports To

Operations Manager

Essential Functions

• Operate a floor scrubber to clean and maintain floors.
• Perform simple plumbing repairs, such as unclogging sinks and toilets.
• Perform simple electrical repairs, such as replacing light bulbs and outlets.
• Perform simple masonry repairs, such as patching walls and repairing damaged tiles.
• Painting.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, as needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Dismantle and prepare wooden crates for recycling.
• Coordinate and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Remove snow or ice from building parking lot and entryways when required.
• Perform yard work when required.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Assists with machine testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and masonry principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in janitorial or maintenance work.

Physical Demands

Work is performed largely in an office or climate-controlled warehouse environment. Hours of work are generally during regular business. There will be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines, customer needs and various other business concerns. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to bend, kneel, walk or sit for extended periods of time. The ability to reach above head and below knees is also required.
