Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility through a combination of janitorial services and general building maintenance. This role performs routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and facility inspections to ensure the building, equipment, and grounds are maintained to company standards. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools while working independently.
Job Duties
- Perform routine janitorial duties including floor scrubbers, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and replenishment of supplies.
- Standard maintenance on air compressors and vacuum pumps.
- Equipment and building filter changes.
- Conduct general building maintenance, including minor repairs to walls, doors, flooring, fixtures, plumbing, ceiling tiles, and equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and facility inspections as assigned.
- Identify and report facility issues, safety hazards, and repair needs.
- Maintain exterior areas including sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and grounds as needed.
- Assist with facility moves, equipment setup, and special projects.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to facility-related requests and emergencies when required.
- Ensure work areas are organized, clean, and free of hazards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic computer skills (must have)
- Previous experience in janitorial services, building maintenance, facilities operations, or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Basic understanding of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge and or experience operating forklifts, boom lifts a huge plus
