Job summary

EMSA- Emergency Medical Services Authority is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs for our facilities in Oklahoma City. The role requires handling plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks and coordinating with vendors for specialized services.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify needs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Daily building maintenance: changing bulbs, ceiling tiles, minor repairs.
  • General repairs: drywall, doors, fixtures, and structural elements.
  • Clean interior and exterior of building and equipment.
  • Maintain grounds: landscaping, mowing, snow removal, trash collection.
  • Assist with setup/breakdown for meetings or events.
  • Monitor inventory of tools and supplies; report needs.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Maintenance Manager and vendors for repairs.
  • Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Support emergency response efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions Of The Position
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Perform daily building maintenance such as changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and minor repairs.
  • Perform general repairs including drywall, doors, fixtures, and other structural elements.
  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the building, including machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of building exteriors and grounds, including landscaping, mowing, flower bed upkeep, snow removal, and trash collection.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown for meetings, events, or facility changes.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, cleaning supplies, and facility-related materials; report needs to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance Manager and collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs or services.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Support emergency response efforts such as power outages, leaks, or weather-related damage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.

  • This position requires familiarity with computers and technology. The technician must be able to use digital tools such as maintenance management systems (CMMS), email, and basic office software to track work orders, communicate with team members, and document maintenance activities.
  • This position also demands the ability to meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and follow detailed instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to use proper English grammar and spelling are essential.
  • Intermediate math skills, including addition and subtraction, are frequently used to perform job duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • There are no supervisory requirements.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders.
  • Comfortable working in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work for emergencies or special projects.
  • The Technician may occasionally lift, push, or pull objects up to 100 lbs., with a maximum lifting requirement of 50 lbs. Operation of motor vehicles or heavy equipment may be required
Work Environment
  • The work environment for this position is dynamic and often unpredictable, with duties performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • The technician may be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, fumes, grease, or oil.
  • Ventilation may sometimes be limited, and noise levels can be loud due to frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and machinery.
  • This role requires frequent walking, standing, and physical movement, including crouching, bending, twisting, or kneeling.
  • Tasks may occasionally involve ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, or ramps, and working in tight or confined spaces.
  • Use of hand tools is frequent, with occasional repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
