Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Facility Float Pool LPN to provide patient care on a full-time basis (36 hours/week) in a 12-hour night shift. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process, coordinating with departments, and upholding patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications include a Missouri LPN license, at least 1 year of acute care nursing, and BLS certification. A sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 is offered, with no contract required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED and graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Licensure: Missouri LPN license in good standing per MO State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year nursing experience in acute care; six months within last year.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (AHA) or completion within 30 days; LPN-IV certification per MO requirements.
• Physical: Ability to lift 50 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, and mobility requirements.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) . Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Float Pool

Status: Full-Time - 36 hours/week

Shift: 12 Hour NIghts (7:00pm - 7:30am)

Qualifications:

• Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent and graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.


• Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current Missouri LPN license and must meet all MO State Board of Nursing requirements.


• Experience : Must have a minimum of 1 year nursing experience in acute care. Six months of this experience should be within the last year.


• Certifications : Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri. Other unit specific certifications as required.


• Physical Requirements/Demands : Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
