Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Facility Float Pool RN for a part-time role with 24 hours per week and 12-hour day shifts. You will provide direct patient care, coordinate activities across departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of acute care nursing experience, graduates of state-approved RN programs, an active RN license in the hiring state or a compact state, and BLS certification either current or within 30 days

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year of nursing experience in acute care; six months within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process in accordance with Mercy guidelines.
• Coordinate patient care across departments and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Operate within the scope of nursing practice and Mercy Service Standards.

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Float Pool

Status: Part-Time - 24 hours/week

Shift: 12 Hour Days

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferred. Six months of this experience should be within the last year.
• Required Education: Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Other:Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
