Job summary

HDR is seeking a Facility Designer I to join our O&M Facilities Design team in the United States. You will help develop a major portion of project deliverables, including programming, site master planning, BIM workflows, and construction documents.

Responsibilities include coordinating design elements, reviewing submittals and RFIs, conducting field observations, and supporting multiple projects with BIM tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in architecture, industrial design or related.
  • Command of Revit and AutoCAD, and knowledge of SketchUp.
  • Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
  • Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements.
  • Experience in industrial design, facility planning, equipment layout, or workflow analysis is preferred but will consider entry level candidates with 4-year degree and strong BIM skills.

The Facility Designer I is an essential, valued member of the HDR O&M Facilities Design staff directly responsible for developing a major portion of our project deliverables.
As a Facility Designer I, you will be responsible for:

  • Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents
  • Selection, coordination and layout of various aspects of design (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.)
  • Creating / using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
  • Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
  • Conduct construction field observations
  • Other design / engineering tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial design, facility planning, equipment layout, or workflow analysis is preferred but will consider entry level candidates with 4-year degree and strong BIM skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to effectively interact with and present to client
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and detail
  • Local candidates preferred
