Job summary

HDR is seeking a Facility Designer to contribute to major project deliverables in a collaborative, inclusive environment. The role focuses on programming, master planning, BIM modeling, and producing construction documents across multiple project phases.

The candidate will coordinate with teams, review submittals and RFIs, and perform site observations to ensure design intent and quality. Local candidates preferred in the Columbus area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design or related.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
• Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents.
• Selection, coordination and layout of design aspects (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.).
• Creating / using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents.
• Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review.
• Conduct construction field observations.
• Other design / engineering tasks as assigned.

The Facility Designer is responsible for developing a major portion of our project deliverables.

• Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents
• Selection, coordination and layout of various aspects of design (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.)
• Creating / using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
• Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
• Conduct construction field observations
• Other design / engineering tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to effectively interact with and present to client
• Ability to hand draw conceptual site and building plans
• Exceptional level of accuracy and detail
• Local candidates preferred
