Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Facility Designer in Columbus, Ohio to develop a major portion of project deliverables, including programming, site master planning, and construction documents.

You will select, coordinate, and lay out design aspects such as vehicle maintenance equipment and site flow, and create BIM-based documents at multiple levels. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD with SketchUp, and strong MS Office

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design or related.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a major portion of project deliverables including programming, site master planning, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate and layout design elements such as vehicle maintenance equipment and site flow.
  • Create/use BIM to produce different document levels.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
  • Conduct construction field observations.
  • Perform other design/engineering tasks as assigned.

The Facility Designer is responsible for developing a major portion of our project deliverables

  • Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents
  • Selection, coordination and layout of various aspects of design (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.)
  • Creating / using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
  • Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
  • Conduct construction field observations
  • Other design / engineering tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively interact with and present to client
  • Ability to hand draw conceptual site and building plans
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and detail
  • Local candidates preferred
