Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a diligent Facility Associate to provide custodial services under the Facility Director, keeping the building clean, safe, and welcoming for members.

You will perform cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, window cleaning, and grounds keeping, assist with room setup and snow removal, report health or safety issues, and help maintain supplies and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in custodial field.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic custodial equipment and functions.
• Ability to relate well with staff and public.
• Obtain and/or maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Be willing to alter work schedule to deal with job demands and manage competing priorities.
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the building at all times.
• Perform custodial tasks: cleaning, sanitizing, mopping, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and grounds keeping.
• Maintain grounds in a safe and pleasing appearance according to the season.
• Create a safe environment for members and staff while performing duties.
• Assist with room setup and breakdown, and snow removal as needed.
• Evaluate and report health, safety or cleanliness issues to supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
• Follow safety standards and policies; support fire safety inspections.
