Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Facility Associate to provide custodial services under the guidance of the Facility Director. You will maintain cleanliness, perform sanitation tasks, and support room setup, snow removal, and safety compliance to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for members and staff.

Minimum 1 year in maintenance or custodial work, with knowledge of custodial equipment and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of maintenance or custodial experience.
• Knowledge of basic custodial equipment and functions.
• Ability to relate well with staff and the public.
• Obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to adjust work schedule to meet job demands.
• Obtain and maintain new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform custodial functions as directed by Facility Director.
• Maintain cleanliness of the building at all times.
• Clean, sanitize, mop, trash removal, dust, window cleaning, and grounds keeping.
• Maintain grounds in a safe and pleasant appearance according to the season.
• Create a safe environment for members and staff while performing duties.
• Assist with room setup and breakdown, and snow removal as needed.
• Evaluate and report health, safety or cleanliness issues to supervisor.
• Maintain adequate inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
• Follow all safety standards and procedures of the Association.
• Assist with maintaining building and fire suppression inspections.
• Ensure compliance with YGBW policies and SOPs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
