Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine in Jennersville, PA, is seeking a Full-Time Custodian to keep our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for members and staff.

You will perform custodial tasks, assist with room setups, and handle grounds keeping, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Minimum 3 years in custodial work, HS diploma, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds; fluency in English required; valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in custodial field.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Willingness to alter work schedule to meet job demands and priorities.
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform custodial functions as directed by Facility Director.
• Maintain cleanliness of building at all times.
• Cleaning, sanitizing, mopping, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and grounds keeping.
• Maintain grounds in a safe manner and pleasing appearance according to the season.
• Maintain a safe environment for members and staff while performing work duties.
• Assist with room setup and breakdown, and snow removal as needed.
• Evaluate and report health, safety or cleanliness issues to supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
• Follow safety standards and company policies.
• Assist with maintaining buildings and fire suppression inspections.

What You'll Do

• Follow all Association and applicable safety standards when performing any tasks.
• Assist with maintaining all buildings and fire suppression inspections.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in custodial field.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic custodial equipment and functions
• Ability to relate well with staff and public
• Obtain and/or maintain a valid driver's license
• Be willing to alter work schedule to deal with job demands and manage competing priorities

• Basic computer skills required
