Job summary

Stantec is seeking Facility Assessors/Inspectors to join a large-scale DoD facility condition assessment program across the United States. The role requires knowledge of mechanical, electrical, shell, and structural systems, with opportunities for hybrid work reporting to a Stantec office.

Candidates should bring hands-on experience in building systems, strong writing skills, and the ability to travel 50% or more.

Qualifications

• Good mathematical aptitude.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Ability to travel, 50% or more.
• Position requires a drug screen.
• Must have valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience or formal trade school education in building and mechanical systems.
• 5 years of experience.
• Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or other applicable field.
• Master mechanic/technician.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an inventory of client facilities classifying building components per ASTM UNIFORMAT II.
• Assess facilities using professional expertise to determine physical condition and conformance with specifications and codes.
• Experience using facility condition assessment software; familiarity with BUILDER SMS is desirable, training provided.
• Use tablets with cameras to document equipment and subcomponents and justify condition.
• Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and standard practices.
• Inspect large complexes and climb ladders to assess building elements and subcomponents.
