Job summary

BCBST BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc. in Chattanooga seeks a Coding Analyst II to support the Facility Coding & Reimbursement Team across all lines of business.

You will research complex coding and reimbursement issues, evaluate regulatory changes, and collaborate with Claims, Provider Network Management, Medical Policy, IT, and Customer Service to ensure payment accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has facility coding experience (inpatient/outpatient), 3 years in medical coding,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years in corporate environment)
• 3 years of experience in Medical/Clinical Coding
• Coding certification required or willingness to obtain within two years
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA claims transactions and reimbursement applications

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design, analysis, recommendation, implementation and maintenance of coding and reimbursement processes
• Develop coding and reimbursement policies and billing guidelines
• Coordinate data collection for coding, reimbursement, and billing changes; advise on coding/reimbursement issues on committees
• Develop educational material for staff training
• Provide coding consultations to support administrative functions and reviews, prepare and present code editing changes
