Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic operations of janitorial work.
• Basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Basic safe work practices.
• The use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals (per MSDS sheets).
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include walking, standing, lifting 1–30 lbs, bending, reaching, etc.

Responsibilities

• High dusting surfaces above shoulder height with a treated duster.
• Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height using germicidal solution.
• Wipe doorknobs and walls to remove fingerprints and smudges.
• Spot clean windows.
• Bathroom cleaning in specified order and sanitize.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Dust mop and vacuum floors, clean under furniture.
• Grounds care: outdoor areas cleaned and trash removed.
• Public areas: dust mop, spot mop, glass cleaning, planter care.
• Food court: clean tables, remove trash, clean trays and wash area.
• Floor sanitizing: mop and clean under furniture.
• Report issues to supervisor after completing tasks.
