Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking an experienced carpenter for the Facility Maintenance department on the Evening shift. The role requires operating power tools, installing windows, doors, glass, blinds and cabinetry, and performing a broad range of finish carpentry projects.

You will work with signage, millwork, and hardware installations while adhering to safety protocols and center policies. This position includes supervision support and ongoing maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years manual training in carpentry and 3 years experience with journeyman carpenter, or Grammar School graduate with 4-year carpentry apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Operates all types of stationary and portable power tools and equipment.
• Able to install windows, frames, sashes, fasteners, measure and install glass, blinds and screens.
• Performs carpentry projects from sketches, plans and specs including concrete forms, rough framing, interior and exterior finish carpentry.
• Installs interior and exterior signage and finishes.
• Repairs furniture, cabinetry, shelving, millwork, and hardware.
• Installs wall bumpers, hand rails, ceilings, and ceiling tile systems.
• Ensures safety, housekeeping, and compliance with codes and policies.
