Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Facility Architectural Assessor to perform condition assessments of City-owned buildings, examining exterior and interior components and overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency.

The selected candidate will coordinate ADA surveys, record existing conditions, provide code and local law analysis, and prepare facility assessment reports for sponsor agency budget planning.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State Registration as an Architect and active maintenance for duration of employment.
• At least one year in the last three years as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project.
• Experience with building condition assessments and knowledge of code, sustainability, and resiliency standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct condition assessments of exterior and interior building components in City-owned properties.
• Evaluate building code compliance, sustainability, and resiliency; identify priorities for action.
• Coordinate ADA surveys and synthesize findings; record conditions and prepare facility assessment reports.
