Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Facility Architectural Assessor to evaluate City-owned buildings and assess exterior/interior components, code compliance, sustainability and resiliency for prioritizing repairs and budgets.

The candidate will coordinate ADA surveys, document conditions, perform code analyses, and prepare facility assessment reports for sponsor agency budgeting.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• A valid New York State Professional Engineer license is required; current NYS registration must be maintained.
• A master's degree in civil engineering may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct condition assessments of exterior and interior building components and overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency.
• Record existing conditions; provide code and local laws analysis and prepare facility assessment reports.
• Coordinate and advise on ADA surveys; synthesize findings for budgeting and planning.
