Checkered Flag Holdings seeks an experienced Facility and Transportation Technician to join its operations team to ensure the short- and long-term maintenance, security, and safety of its facilities, ground and vehicles.

The Facility and Transportation Technician reports to the Company’s Vice President and will work in conjunction with our existing facilities team to accomplish assigned responsibilities. This position is full-time, which requires on-call availability and flexibility to work varied hours as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform and/or coordinate maintenance, repair and improvement projects at all properties under the real estate portfolio
• Monitor and maintain the overall tidiness of the facilities and grounds, both inside and outside, to maintain a safe and productive environment for occupants
• Routinely inspect facilities, troubleshoot and make repairs to and/or schedule preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, air systems, fire preventative systems, and water treatment systems
• Perform a variety of maintenance and/or minor repair activities on the interior and exterior areas of the properties, including, but not limited to, painting, cleaning, drywall repair, plumbing repair, interior/exterior lighting repairs, roof repair, and overhead door repair
• Coordinate with landscapers and other outside contractors on all potential projects and/or needs
• Maintain maintenance and repair records on all facility systems
• Collect and maintain a proper database of all Certificates of Insurance for outside vendors performing work at facilities.
• Perform all duties in accordance with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to promote a safe working environment
• Coordinate with other Facilities team members to ensure weekend coverage for properties in cases of emergency
• Provide support to Hanger Manager with hanger operations and provide backup aircraft fueling support as needed
• Ensure timely repair and maintenance of all vehicles, watercraft, etc. in the transportation fleet
• Responsible for all state inspections and vehicle registrations
• Ensure all vehicles have current insurance coverage and cards
• Assist in the acquisition of all new vehicles & equipment
• Assist in the disposal/sale of all vehicles & equipment
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, additional building certifications desirable
• Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience
• Knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Basic knowledge of vehicles
• Experience managing external contractors
• Basic handyman and painting skills
• Ability to thrive in a small team environment, to take responsibility, and to meet deadlines
• Ability to work well both collaboratively and independently
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Calm under pressure and experienced with crisis management
• Proactive approach to solving problems and creating solutions
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy furniture and equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and work at height
• Possession of North Carolina driver’s license required and a clean record and insurance preferred
