Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking an Administrative Officer I (NS) for Lincoln Correctional Center in Lincolnton, NC. This role oversees the complete administrative and human resources functions at a minimum custody facility, applying careful policy knowledge and procedures to maintain efficient operations.

As a full-time position with state benefits, you will work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with 24/7 availability to meet facility needs.

Qualifications

• Documented knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
• Documented knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment.
• Documented knowledge of supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility administrative operations including budget, procurement, inventory, and support services.
• Supervise administrative and support staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Implement and monitor administrative policies per NCDAC guidelines.
• Prepare and monitor the facility operating budget with proper fiscal controls.
• Ensure compliance with audits, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve on the facility management team advising on admin, financial, and operational matters.
• Coordinate administrative support with custody and programs staff.
• Review and evaluate processes to identify inefficiencies.
