Job summary

County of Orange is seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair the animal shelter facilities, grounds, and kennels, while coordinating warehouse storage and donation processing. The role supports outreach events and ensures the campus remains clean, accessible, and welcoming for staff, volunteers, and the public.

Candidate demonstrates ability to perform basic facility maintenance tasks.
Strong safety mindset and ability to follow procedures.
Experience in warehouse or animal-care facility environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair the shelter facility and grounds, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
Clean public areas and shelter spaces, power wash, sanitize, and organize storage.
Load/unload supplies with pallet stacker and assist with pallet movement and deliveries.
Provide logistical support for outreach events and prepare event supplies.
Research and source supplies, tools, and materials; assist with warehouse inventory.
Follow best practices and safety policies to keep buildings functional and welcoming.
