Job summary

San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and some janitorial tasks across all facilities. You’ll work with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other trades, respond to emergencies, and coordinate service with vendor specialists while contributing to a safe, welcoming shelter environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 3 years related experience.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related trades.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools used in the job functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the facility and on equipment.
• Maintain, install, and repair plumbing systems; respond to maintenance emergencies.
• Inspect building facilities and equipment to identify needed repairs and alterations.
• Coordinate service with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other vendor specialties.
• Support public and staff during shelter programs and events.
