Job summary

State of Georgia|Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a General Trades Tech 3 in Georgia to support facilities maintenance and construction. You will supervise staff, coordinate engineering and renovation projects, and oversee on-site safety and contractor work.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 3 years of building repairs experience, or 2 years at General Trades Tech 2. DHS offers extensive benefits and telework options where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment; OR two (2) years of experience at the lower level General Trades Tech 2 (FET031) or position equivalent.
• Some positions may require area-specific certifications/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff.
• Coordinates the engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities.
• Oversees the use of contractors and contracted maintenance employees working on property and equipment, ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
• Reviews plans and conducts on-site inspections to ensure work is performed according to guidelines.
• Manages project resources, purchases, preventative maintenance and work orders.
• Maintains an efficient parts and supply inventory.
