Job summary

South Middlesex Opportunity Council, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Special Projects in Framingham, MA. The role covers a wide range of building maintenance tasks across SMOC properties, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and general repairs.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, turnover of vacant units, and maintaining safety and professionalism with tenants and staff. Travel within SMOC properties and surrounding areas is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in housing/facility maintenance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Flexible schedule; on-call shifts required.
• Proficient with basic hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance repairs using hand, power and specialty tools.
• Complete turnover of vacant rooms/apartments as directed.
• Monitor and maintain building systems.
• Complete work orders and communicate updates promptly.
• Perform external property tasks such as cleaning, snow removal and basic landscaping.
• Adhere to safety standards and SMOC policies.
