South Middlesex Opportunity Council is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of building maintenance tasks across SMOC properties in Framingham, MA. The role includes turnover of vacant units, routine system monitoring, and timely completion of work orders in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid MA driver’s license, and experience in housing or facility maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in housing/facility maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and on-call shifts.
• Familiar with basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.
• Complete turnover process of vacant rooms/apartments.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems.
• Complete assigned work orders and communicate status.
• Perform external property duties (trash, sweeping, landscaping).
• Maintain safety standards and compliance with guidelines.
• Engage with clients/tenants to understand and address needs.
• Attend team meetings and communicate effectively.
