Job summary

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office facilities team is seeking a skilled tradesperson to maintain and repair operating systems, HVAC-related components, and security equipment across county facilities in Grand Rapids. The role emphasizes journey-level maintenance and adherence to codes, with on-call emergency responsiveness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combined with completion of a recognized technical, certificate or apprenticeship program.
• Three years’ experience in maintenance repair or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repair of operating systems, features, fixtures and furnishings of Kent County Sheriff’s Office facilities.
• Install, modify, and maintain electrical, electronic, and security systems and access controls.
• Adhere to maintenance schedules and applicable codes and respond to emergencies as needed.
