Job summary

Meritage Hospitality Group Inc. is seeking a Facilities Technician to support restaurant operations across our corporate portfolio. You will perform maintenance on cooking equipment and building systems, manage work orders, and communicate clearly with internal teams.

The role requires basic trade skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle on-call and weekend tasks. Applicants should be prepared for physical work and safety compliance in a hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of related experience in general shop and/or building maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of basic trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair and basic HVAC/refrigeration.
• Knowledge of industry compliance and safety awareness.
• Ability to plan and schedule work.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to adapt to varying tasks and priorities.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair cooking and prep equipment (oven, grill, fryer, ice machine, Frosty machine).
• Provide interior and exterior maintenance services (electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, flooring, ceilings).
• Follow preventative maintenance schedules as directed.
• Build relationships with internal customers, suppliers and service providers; order/return parts promptly.
• Review and complete work orders/projects with quality and on time.
• Provide site visit summaries with completed work, next steps, and close-out actions.
• Communicate technical information clearly in writing and speech.
• Operate company fleet van and manage standard parts inventory.
