Job summary

Bridge Over Troubled Waters in Boston, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and handle plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and carpentry tasks. You will respond to service requests promptly and coordinate with the Facilities and Operations Manager to keep the building safe and compliant.

The role requires 2–3 years in maintenance, strong communication and customer service skills, and a Massachusetts driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in a maintenance-level position or related field.
• Nonprofit homelessness setting experience preferred.
• Basic understanding and execution of trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Able to work on roofs/gutters, basements and foundations in tight areas.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance service requests.
• Make minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs; work with vendors for permitting on large projects.
• Coordinate moves of departments, residents and employees.
• Hang pictures, office decor and shelving as needed.
• Dismantle and install furniture; transport goods or equipment as assigned.
• Provide 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
