Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte is seeking a Facility Technician to maintain the facility’s buildings and grounds and provide mechanical assistance for equipment and systems. This role involves on-call maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe, high-quality environment for members.

Qualified candidates have 3–6 years of property maintenance experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
3-6 years experience in property maintenance of a high-use commercial building.
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills with YMCA staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

Perform facility maintenance tasks to ensure quality experience for YMCA members.
Inspect building and grounds to upgrade the facility and ensure safety.
Respond to maintenance requests and diagnose/repair equipment.
Complete mechanical and maintenance of systems and equipment.
Coordinate with departments and manage own schedule for repairs.
Coordinate site appointments for contract labor and ensure quality service.
Provide risk and safety information and schedule regular safety drills.
Maintain YMCA tools and equipment in clean, safe condition.
