Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and complex troubleshooting on hospital equipment and systems at the Floyd Medical Center - Facilities. You will document activities in CMMS, respond to service requests, and participate in preventive maintenance.

A valid driver's license and 4+ years in equipment maintenance are required. The role supports patient care environments, collaborates with multiple teams, and involves routine safety checks,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Driver's license required.
• Certification and/or additional training in a skill/trade/equipment is applicable to the job needs and location.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and documents using CMMS.
• Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, etc.) with minimal guidance.
• Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, etc.).
• Troubleshoots mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, piping, electrical, gas, etc.) with minimal guidance.
• Performs general maintenance in grounds, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Handles emergencies (leaks, floods, fires, outages, equipment failures) and coordinates repairs.
• Responds to occupants' requests; conducts zone maintenance rounds and updates on corrective actions.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, and partitions.
• Reads blueprints and manuals to complete tasks.
