Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain multiple properties across Issaquah, Bellevue, Maple Valley, and Redmond. You will handle work orders, basic repairs, and routine maintenance while coordinating with vendors and staff to keep facilities safe and functional.

The role emphasizes anti-racism principles and equitable service, requiring strong problem-solving, teamwork, and reliable transportation between sites.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of hands-on facility maintenance or building trades experience.
• Basic computer skills to operate work order apps.
• Team player able to work with site personnel and supervisors.
• Working knowledge of building and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and experience with power and hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of carpentry, cabinetry, painting, plumbing, electrical and drywall.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders within the expected timeframe and track progress.
• Assist with painting, drywall, plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, cleaning and general repairs of building systems.
• Support maintenance administration including inventory tracking and safety records.
• Assist Ops Manager with community upkeep, grounds, and safety for residents and staff.
• Coordinate testing and preventive maintenance in units with contractors when needed.
• Be available for after-hours on-call responses to emergencies.
• Ensure communications align with YWCA strategies and messaging.
• Develop relationships with staff, volunteers, vendors, residents, and clients.
• Obtain price quotes for parts and services for projects.
• Pursue ongoing learning around equity and anti-racism in the workplace.
• Treat clients and staff with respect and dignity regardless of background.
