Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain multiple buildings and support a diverse portfolio across King & Snohomish counties. The role requires travel between Issaquah, Bellevue, Maple Valley, and Redmond, and emphasizes antiracism and equity in daily work.

You will perform routine maintenance, help coordinate safety programs, and work with staff and vendors to ensure safe, efficient facilities and housing for residents.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' hands-on facility maintenance or building trades experience.
• Basic computer skills; able to use work order apps.
• Team player able to work with site personnel and supervisors.
• Working knowledge of building and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and experience with a variety of power and hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic carpentry, cabinetry, painting, plumbing, electrical and drywall understanding.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders within the expected timeframe and track progress.
• Assist with painting, drywall, plumbing repairs; troubleshoot electrical; light carpentry and general repairs.
• Assist with inventory tracking, data entry, and safety records in YWCA documents.
• Support Ops Manager in physical upkeep, grounds, and safety of residents and employees.
• Coordinate testing and preventive maintenance (PMIs) in units and with contractors as needed.
• Be available for after-hours on-call emergencies.
• Communicate projects and messages consistent with YWCA strategy.
