Job summary

MyPath is seeking a Maintenance Tech II to support the T.C. Harris School & Academy in Lafayette, IN. You will perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs to keep the campus, Academy, and group homes safe and compliant.

You will complete preventative maintenance, use a computer-based work order system, participate in on-call rotations, and maintain licenses. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• License or certification in a building trade.
• At least 2 years of maintenance or building trade experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using a computer-based work order system.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance and routine facility inspections.
• Maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems.
• Respond quickly to emergency maintenance needs.
• Use a computer-based work order system to document and track work.
• Follow agency safety, confidentiality, vehicle, and maintenance procedures.
• Participate in required training and maintain current licenses or certifications.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service needs during assigned on-call times.
• Communicate professionally with staff, students, and other internal and external contacts.
