Job summary

Lyon County is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for full-time, non-exempt work starting at $20/hr. Benefits include paid time off and medical/dental/vision insurance.

The role covers installation, repair, and maintenance of building systems across county facilities and seasonal Fairgrounds maintenance. Applicants should have at least one year of general mechanical maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license; plumbing/heating/air conditioning training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of general mechanical maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Experience with plumbing, heating, or electrical work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preventative maintenance schedules for county facilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structures).
• Assist with installation and replacement of equipment; document changes and logs.
• Perform repairs or arrange for repairs; support daily operations of boilers, chillers, and related systems.
• Maintain inventories of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Support Lyon County Fairgrounds maintenance during mowing season; on-call rotation after training.
