Leavenworth USD 453 Service Center in Leavenworth, Kansas is seeking a Skilled Tradesperson with expertise in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate may specialize in one area and will work to keep district schools safe, comfortable, and functional.

Qualifications include at least five years in the relevant field, a Journeyman or Master license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience in applicable field totaling at least five years.
• Certification, Journeyman or Master License in applicable field.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the central office (after employment offer is made).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Other alternatives as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair district HVAC systems, including boilers and chillers.
• Monitor and adjust building automation to support comfort and efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Respond to work orders and emergencies; keep records.
• Ensure work complies with applicable codes and standards.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plumbing systems; replace fixtures and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal winterization.
• Complete plumbing repairs and installations per codes.
• Maintain parts, supplies, and respond to emergencies.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems.
• Install and service lighting and electrical panels.
• Diagnose electrical problems and determine repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep systems safe.
• Complete electrical work per NEC requirements.
