Job summary

The City of Portland is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems across City locations. The role requires an Oregon LME or higher license and the ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot complex equipment.

Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing a variety of building systems, assisting with construction plan reviews, and handling emergency calls.

Qualifications

• Certification: Oregon LME or higher at time of application.
• Experience diagnosing emergency maintenance issues and providing guidance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; estimate costs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems.
• Repair and replace plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and components.
• Maintain HVAC units and refrigeration equipment; inspect all equipment.
• Review new construction or remodel plans for compliance with standards.
• Repair and maintain facilities structures and electrical systems up to 600V.
• Repair small motorized equipment and engines.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide technical recommendations.
