Job summary

The City of Portland is seeking Facilities Maintenance Technician-CL to maintain and repair a variety of park and facility systems across multiple locations in Portland, Oregon. The role focuses on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, electrical components, and general building maintenance to ensure safe, functional, and reliable facilities for the community.

Two positions are available, with regular full-time shifts and potential schedule variations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building/facility automated control systems.
• Experience performing building maintenance and repairs including scheduling and preventative maintenance inspections.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Experience repairing facilities electrical components.
• Experience with facility hazard management and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, service, and troubleshoot building systems and equipment.
• Respond to urgent equipment failures to restore operations quickly.
• Perform a variety of maintenance tasks requiring mechanical skills.
• Install and assemble new machines and components.
• Review and respond to work orders and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Assist in inspections of fire alarm and safety systems and address deficiencies.
• Ensure safety, efficiency, and comfort across diverse environments.
