Job summary

UG2 is seeking a Facility Technician to operate, maintain, and repair boilers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across two properties in Cupertino and Mountain View. This role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient facility operation.

The position involves hands-on maintenance, fault diagnosis, and timely repairs, including water treatment, lighting, and building infrastructure. EPA 608 certification is required; additional certificates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in facility maintenance or related field.
• Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.
• Fire Pump Test Certificate, Fire Pump Certification, OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, and other systems.
• Conduct facility rounds to monitor mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping, and plumbing systems.
• Repair and replace components such as toilets, sinks, and dispensers.
• Maintain and repair flooring, including tile and carpet squares.
• Replace and repair lighting fixtures and drivers.
• Perform water treatment for cooling towers and boiler water systems.
• Maintain refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators.
• Operate and maintain heating systems and hot water pumps.
• Facilitate maintenance of natural gas distribution lines and related components.
• Manage water supply systems including filters, softeners, pumps, and sprinkler systems.
• Operate and maintain electrical motors and control systems; troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain fuel oil system components and safety equipment.
• Use energy/building management systems for efficiency.
• Maintain inventory of parts and materials for tasks.
• Keep facility shop spaces in good repair, including painting and drywall patching.
• Repair furniture and fixtures as needed.
