Job summary

Allen County Public Library is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Technician in Fort Wayne, IN. The role covers HVAC maintenance, electrical repair, carpentry, and installation projects to keep library spaces inviting and functional.

Qualifications

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry installation and repair.
Proficiency with safety regulations and practices for a secure work environment.
Basic computer literacy for work orders and logs.
Ability to operate small vehicles (van, pickup) for onsite tasks.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems in library facilities.
Troubleshoot HVAC and electrical issues to ensure spaces are functional and welcoming.
Collaborate with a team to support ongoing facility operations and safety standards.
Keep accurate logs and use work order systems to track tasks.
Maintain library spaces to support community learning and programs.
