Job summary

A non-profit organization in Portland’s Washington Park is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain grounds, buildings, and event spaces. Responsibilities include custodial tasks, basic repairs, landscape work, and AV support for campus events.

Essential duties require at least one year of facilities-related experience, plus maintenance skills in carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety. This is a full-time hourly position with varied shifts; CPR and background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of mechanical, electrical or plumbing experience.
• Facilities experience required, including plumbing or electrical work.
• Janitorial experience required.
• Basic knowledge of power and landscaping equipment.
• HVAC experience preferred.
• Forklift and scissor lift knowledge preferred; certification within 90 days.
• Basic safety and emergency operations knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, team and independent work ability.
• Attention to detail with good judgment and critical thinking.
• Able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• HS diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain custodial cleanliness and readiness for public use.
• General maintenance of campus buildings; address work requests.
• Report repairs and safety issues to Facilities Manager; routine maintenance.
• Handle carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting; vinyl lettering.
• Landscape and groundskeeping; trash removal; weather-related duties.
• Setups and teardown for events; provide AV support for staff/events.
• Provide security assistance as needed; welfare checks for houseless on campus.
• Deliver excellent customer service; assist staff with safety training as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
