Job summary

College Housing Northwest is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the safe operation and upkeep of our student housing facilities in Portland. This full-time role requires attention to detail, basic maintenance know-how, and reliable mobility to job sites and offices.

You will handle work orders, perform turnovers, install and repair fixtures, and participate in inspections while delivering high service to residents and collaborating with staff to advance our mission and community goals.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and time management are essential.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
• Collaborative, self-motivated with a customer-focused approach.
• 1–3 years of maintenance or construction experience.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of facility maintenance."
• Proficiency with basic computer applications including email (Outlook) and internet.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders promptly and communicate progress to residents and supervisors.
• Perform apartment turnover tasks including painting and repairs.
• Install and repair fixtures, outlets, and lighting; adjust lighting as needed.
• Assist with property and apartment inspections.
• Provide high level of service to residents.
• Engage in ongoing development through company training and events.
• Collaborate with staff to support the company mission.
