Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Worker to maintain and improve our facilities. You will develop and manage systems for reporting maintenance issues and work independently to address electrical, plumbing, structural, and equipment concerns.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and six years of relevant experience, plus a valid Texas driver's license.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of relevant experience.
• Valid Texas Drivers' License, clear MVR, and ability to be ensured.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development and maintenance of systems for facility reporting of maintenance problems.
• Evaluates electrical, plumbing, structural, equipment and other maintenance issues and completes repairs or uses contract providers as needed.
• Builds or modifies interior walls or other structures.
• Installs equipment as directed and moves furniture/fixtures as required.
• Orders and maintains a tool and repair part inventory.
• Establishes a preventative maintenance program and conducts that preventive maintenance on facilities and related equipment.
• Completes periodic reports on the status of repairs and the general condition of the facilities.
• Recommends priorities for repairs and evaluates the level of expertise and costs.
• Performs approved maintenance procedures and assists in training facility staff.
• Completes all forms, work orders and related paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
• Must work independently by driving to and from job assignment sites in a safe, professional and timely manner.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and professional conduct consistent with the mission of Volunteers of America Texas.
• Uses safe working habits including lift belts, protective eye covers and gloves where appropriate to prevent personal injury.
