Job summary

Rolling Hills Community Church seeks a Maintenance Associate to keep the campus functional, safe, and well maintained. The role focuses on equipment upkeep, repairs, and facility operations, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and vehicles.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in facilities maintenance, is familiar with HVAC/plumbing/electrical systems, knows OSHA basics, and can work with staff and volunteers while maintaining attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent trade or relevant experience preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in facilities maintenance or similar role.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical or irrigation systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and basic safety practices.
• Understanding and alignment to mission/vision.
• Excellent relational and problem-solving skills with staff and volunteers.
• Strong self-management; able to lead teams or work independently.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and pressure.
• Attention to detail and ability to learn church software.
• Valid driver's license for church vehicles.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/ weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of facility systems, equipment and tools including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, vehicles.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of mechanical and operational systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on utility vehicles, tools, and machinery used on campus.
• Use Upkeep to complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Support seasonal grounds tasks such as irrigation systems and weather-related projects.
• Coordinate onsite with outside vendors or contractors for repairs or services.
• Collaborate with leadership and maintenance/landscaping staff to identify improvements and safety concerns.
• Cross-train with custodial team for events setup and cleaning procedures.
