Job summary

The Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities, equipment, and grounds safe, clean, and well-maintained. Under the Facilities Director, you will perform routine maintenance, repairs, preventive tasks, and assist with pool and vehicle upkeep.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am–4 pm, with some nights and weekends possible, totaling about 40 hours per week. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with strong problem-solving and teamwork

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalency is required.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in facility, maintenance, or property related field is required.
• Must hold current driver’s license. Chauffeur’s license or CDL is preferred.
• Demonstrated intelligence and ability to learn.
• Competency in Microsoft Office is required.
• Ability to learn/use YMCA specific software within 30 days of hire is required.
• Significant self control.
• Strong social skills.
• Ability to be responsive to the needs and wants of participants, staff and volunteers is needed.
• Experience working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds is preferred.
• Multi-lingual ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain YMCA facilities, equipment, and property in a safe and clean manner.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building, grounds, and equipment (doors, windows, pool equipment, furniture, exercise equipment).
• Change light bulbs and ballasts; carpentry; painting; custodial tasks.
• Assist with pool operation and maintenance and with vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Provide weekly inventory reports of custodial and pool supplies.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
